2019, January - Shady Rest Winter Trails Groomed and Open for Public Use!

Friends, thanks to recent storms - "most" of the MLTS Nordic Trail System at Shady Rest Park is groomed and open to nordic skiers, winter walkers and fat bikers. It is important to emphasize that during the Federal Government shutdown, our USFS partners are not grooming winter trails with a snow cat. This means that we are doing our best with our equipment to provide a quality trail facility. The snow cat typically does the first pass on the trails for us. The Inyo National Forest motorized OSV winter trails will not be groomed until the shutdown ends.

The Mammoth Lakes Trail System is able to provide this service thanks to a partnership between the Town of Mammoth Lakes and Inyo National Forest and funding from Measure R.
