Dear MTLS Trail Enthusiasts, On Saturday, July 6th please join us with Footloose Sports and Sierra Eastside Mountain Bike Association (SEMBA) for a day of trail work at Earthquake Fault.
Dear MTLS Friends, The Mammoth Lakes Trail System Crew is kicking off another great season of Trail Days with co-hosts The Trout Fitter and Convict Lake Resort.
The Town of Mammoth Lakes (TOML) has submitted a preliminary application for grant funds from the California State Parks Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation (OHMVR) Division to enhance and manage motorized recreation. The TOML invites your comments on the preliminary grant applications.
Friends, thanks to recent storms - "most" of the MLTS Nordic Trail System at Shady Rest Park is groomed and open to nordic skiers, winter walkers and fat bikers. It is important to emphasize that during the Federal Government shutdown, our USFS partners are not grooming winter trails with a snow cat. This means that we are doing our best with our equipment to provide a quality trail facility. The snow cat typically does the first pass on the trails for us. The Inyo National Forest motorized OSV winter trails will not be groomed until the shutdown ends.
Friends, snow conditions in the Mammoth Lakes area are great, but we need more snow to be able to groom nordic and OSV trails in the area. We will be sure to let you know as soon as public winter trail facilities are ready for fun.
